Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

If bored, feel free to follow me on Twitter @madcatdisease

Almost free travel size Colgate at CVS!

Here's a fun transaction that will get you almost free travel size toothpaste and nail polish this week. It's particularly handy if you need to use up an expiring $10 Extra Buck Reward. However, you *may* want to wait til Thursday to see whether we get a % off CVS coupon, since both items in this transaction are regular priced. If you dare wait, that is!

WARNING: Some stores have the SH nail polish marked as $5.49, but they've been ringing up as $5.79 at every store I've gone to in Montgomery County/DC the past couple of days, despite the shelf price sticker. I was able to get the Diamond Strength at one of these stores for $5.49 each during the first week of this monthly sale, so it looks like a recent price hike. The jerks.

Bought 2 Sally Hansen Insta-Dri or Diamond Strength Nail Color $5.79 each, regular price
Spend $10.00, Receive $5.00 Extra Bucks, Limit 1 at a time (up to like 6 I've heard? I've done 4 so far - monthly deal, ends 5/25)
Used 2 $4.00/1 Sally Hansen Nail Color, minimum purchase of $4.99 or more, excluding Hard as Nails Nail Color, Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color from RP 5/5 (exp 6/5)
Paid $3.58, Received $5.00 Extra Bucks
Final Price: $1.42 MONEYMAKER

Bought 2 Colgate Total Multi-Pack Toothpaste Travel-Friendly Size $3.39 each, regular price
Buy 1, Receive $3.00 Extra Bucks, Limit 2
Paid $6.78, Received $6.00 Extra Bucks
Final Price: $0.78 ($0.39 each) for 2

$  18.36  Shelf price
-     8.00  Coupons
=$10.36  Out of pocket cost
-      11.00  Extra Bucks received

What I actually paid: $10.36 - $10.00 Extra Bucks + $0.69 sales tax = 1.05 paid out of pocket. Walked away with $11.00 new Extra Bucks.

Net Cost: $0.05
