Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

Amazing Unadvertised Natrol Vitamin Deal at Rite Aid!

There's a mysterious, unadvertised deal going on at Rite Aid on Natrol and Laci Le Beau Tea products. When you buy $20 worth of these products, you get a $20 +Up Reward. Yup. It isn't clear when this promotion will end; some sites are reporting 2/10. Apparently the few stores that have signs advertising this deal don't have an end date on them. The limit on this deal is 2, so you can spend $40 and get $40 back.

These items are not on sale, so if you get a Gold or Silver discount, you'll need to figure in your discount when adding up your total. This will result in you standing in the vitamin aisle using your cell phone as a calculator while other people look at you weird. You get used to it.

There are a couple of coupons that go with this deal if you're lucky enough to have them. There was a $2.00/1 January Adperk coupon for the Natrol Melatonin. Unfortunately the video is no longer available to watch, but it's not expired yet so you can still use it if you have already watched it (even if you haven't printed it yet). By some miracle I had already printed out two of that coupon. Yay! There's also a $1.00/1 Laci Le Beau manufacturer coupon in both the December and January issues of All You Magazine, as well as on its Web site to print!

My store was all out of the tea products (apparently those are quite popular), but I did manage to score $40 worth of supplements after my 20% Gold Discount:

Bought 1 Natrol CoQ-10 100 mg 30 ct $9.59, regularly $11.99
Bought 1 Natrol Melatonin Gummies 60 ct $8.79, regularly $10.99
Bought 2 Natrol Advanced Sleep Melatonin 10 mg 60 ct $7.99 each, regularly $9.99 each
Bought 1 Natrol Melatonin 3 mg 90 ct $6.39, regularly $7.99
With 20% Gold Discount
Spend $20.00, Receive $20.00 +Up Reward, Limit 2
(through 2/10?)
Used 2 $2.00/1 January Adperk coupons (no longer available to watch)
Paid $36.75, Received $40.00 +Up Rewards
Final Price: $3.25 MONEYMAKER

What I actually paid: $36.75 - $32.00 in previous +Up Rewards =$4.75 paid out of pocket. Walked away with $40.00 in new +Up Rewards

Net Cost: -$3.25

EDIT: I should note that I split these into two separate transactions so I could earn the $20 +Ups one at a time. I did this because sometimes the Rite Aid computer needs time to update itself and if you do it all at once the second $20 +Up may not print until you do your next, unrelated transaction. Lame.
