Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

How I made money doing the Rite Aid P&G Promo

"I can't help but notice none of this is for me." - Buffy

This week both Rite Aid and CVS have somewhat similar P&G deals. Except Rite Aid's is better. They're offering a bigger reward ($15 vs $10) and the sizes included in the Rite Aid deal are bigger, at least with the Tide/Bounty/Charmin products.

I ended up doing the deal at CVS first anyway, because I had tons of CVS rewards but didn't have many Rite Aid rewards on Sunday. And of course the Gillette/Venus disposable razor BOGO coupons were ringing up at full value at CVS, giving me crazy overage, and I had a 20% off coupon on top of that. I did all right.

ANYWHO, I finally did the P&G deal at Rite Aid today. I was able to turn it into it a crazy moneymaker after rebate. You can do what I did below, but without my special CoverGirl coupons and 20% Gold Discount you'll be paying about $4.00 more than I did. Still a pretty good deal, though.

One more thing: keep a look out for an "Exclusive Holiday Gift Promo" tracking on your receipt. Not everyone is getting this, and those who are are getting different promotions. Mine was something along the lines of Spend $120, Receive $10 +Up Reward. Others are reporting a lower reward/threshold, like a $5 +Up for spending $50. Between my earlier moneymaking spending this week and today's transaction, I earned my $10 reward. WOOT. I believe the deadline for earning this reward is December 24.

So here's what I did:

Spend $30.00, Receive $15.00 +Up Reward, Limit 1:

Bought 6 Olay Bath Bar 2 ct $3.49 each, regular price
BOGO 50%
Bought 1 Olay Bath Bar 2 ct $2.79, regularly $3.49
With 20% Gold Discount
Bought 2 Pantene Shampoo or Conditioner, 12.6 oz or Stylers, 5.7-8.5 oz $3.50 each, when you buy 2, regularly $4.99 each
Bought 2 CoverGirl Eye Shadows $3.39 each, regular price
BOGO 50%
Used 7 $1.00/1 Olay Bar, Body Wash or In Shower Body Lotion from PG 10/28 (exp 11/30) (there are 2 separate coupons for this product in this insert); PG 11/25
And used 2 $1.00/1 Pantene Product from PG 10/28 (exp 11/30)
And used 2 $2.00/1 CoverGirl manufacturer coupons from previous Tampax Radiant coupon insert
or use 1 $3.00/2 CoverGirl manufacturer coupon from PG 10/28 (exp 11/30) ; previous Parade magazine
And used 1 $2.00/1 CoverGirl Rite Aid coupon from Glam Camp rebate received in mail
Paid $15.56, Received $15.00 +Up Reward
Final Price: $0.56 ($3.56 without my special Cover Girl coupons; $4.26 without 20% discount)

Best of all, this entire transaction qualifies for the $15.00/$50.00 Celebrate the Season Procter & Gamble Mail-In Rebate! Between this purchase, the Venus disposable razors on sale at CVS this week, and the free Herbal Essences at Walgreens on Black Friday, surely by now I have spent $50! (Before coupons, of course).

$41.19 Shelf price
- 15.00. Coupons
-10.63 Discounts
=$15.56 Out of pocket cost
- 15.00 +Up Reward received
=$0.56 98.6% savings off shelf price BEFORE rebate!

What I actually paid: $15.56 - $15.00 in previous +Up Rewards + $1.83 sales tax = $2.39 paid out of pocket. Walked away with $15.00 +Up Reward + $10 Holiday +Up Reward and will submit for $15.00 P&G rebate.
