Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

Last Minute Deal: Olay Moneymaker at Rite Aid!

So earlier this week I did the Spend $30 Receive $10 +Up Reward Procter & Gamble deal with Olay, Tide and Bounty products. I received four more $3/2 Olay coupons from PG 7/1 this week from my favorite clipping site, Coupons By Dede, so I decided to do the deal again (on a different card from a different household, of course) to show you how it can be a moneymaker (kinda) when combined with the Spend $30 Receive $10 Olay Rebate!

Bought 1 Olay Body Wash 12oz $5.99, regular price
Bought 6 Olay In-Shower Body Lotion, 8.4 oz $4.99 each, regular price
Bought 1 Olay Bath Bars, 2 ct $3.99, regular price
BOGO 50%
Spend $30.00, Receive $10.00 +Up Reward, Limit 1
Spend $30.00, Submit for $10.00 Mail-In Rebate
Used 4 $3.00/2 Olay Bath Bars, Body Washes or In Shower Body Lotions from PG 7/1
Paid $18.42, Received $10.00 +Up Reward and Will Submit for $10.00 Mail-In Rebate
Final Price: $1.58 MONEYMAKER

$  39.92  Shelf Price
-   12.00  Coupons
-     9.50  Discounts
=$18.42  Paid out of pocket
-   10.00  +Up Reward received
-   10.00  Rebate to submit for
=$  1.58  MONEYMAKER
+    1.20  Cost of 4 $3.00/2 coupons
+    1.83  Sales tax
=$  1.42  Actual cost of products ($0.18 each)

So as you can see, it's not ACTUALLY a moneymaker once the expenses are added in (I didn't include shipping cost for the coupons because I bought a bunch of coupons besides those as well.) But still pretty damn cheap! I've done two of these P&G rebates (recent previous offers) so far with no problems.
