Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

My Staples Rewards Purge
So I had a whopping $35.20 in Staples Rewards burning a hole in my binder, $10 of which were expiring at the end of the month! AHHHHHHH!!! Of course I couldn't use them to buy the $24.99 after $24.99 easy rebate box of paper this week (in other words half off), as when you use rewards to pay for an item, the rewards you would get for that second item are reduced by the rewards you used to pay for it. Lame, I know. So instead I decided to scope out some deals during a seemingly otherwise uneventful sales week, at least going by the store's ad.
Here is what I found:
- 2 62-quart Iris Buckle Up Storage Boxes $5.99 each, regularly $13.49 each
- 1 pair of Westcott Microban scissors $2.99, regularly $7.79
- 1 Staples Rotating Desktop Organizer $5.00, regularly $9.99 each
- 1 Closetmaid Fabric Drawer $6.99, regular price
- 1 18-count box of Donut Shop K-cups $11.99, regular price
$63.74 Shelf price
- 24.79 Discounts
- 35.20 Staples Rewards
= 3.75 (94.1% savings off shelf price)
+ 0.16 Sales tax
=$ 3.91 Paid out of pocket
Guess it's time to get organizing...
