Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

Harris Teeter Super Double Coupons Shopping, Day 3

Today's (well, now yesterday's) trip to Harris Teeter was not all that impressive, EXCEPT the Philadelphia cooking creme deal turned out better than expected. I bought 4 and used 2 $1.50/2 coupons, and got back a $3.00 catalina! That's an additional $0.75 savings per one! So awesome.

UPDATE: Apparently Sunday was the last day for the catalina. Confirmed today that it is no longer printing. But it's still a good deal even without the catalina if you use the cooking creme alot like we do. We use it to make baked penne like ALL the frakin' time. Also look for beef with a peelie coupon giving you $1.00 off the meat when you buy a Philadelphia Cooking Creme! Keep in mind that since this is a peelie, it will not double. Today's shopping trip summary will be up soon!

Bought 4 Philadelphia Cooking Cremes, $2.99 each, regular price
Used 2 $1.50/2 Internet Printable Coupons (Walmart.com)
Paid $5.96, received $3.00 Catalina
Final Price: $2.96 ($0.74 each) for 4

Bought 10 cans of Alpo Dog Food, $0.75 each, regularly $0.99 each
Used 1 $1.50/10 coupon from SS2 1/8
Paid $4.50, received $1.00 Catalina
 Final Price: $3.50 ($0.35 each) for 10

UPDATE: According to a quick Google search, this catalina deal appears to be expired now as well.

Bought 2 Betty Crocker Homestyle Mashed Potatoes 3.3oz, $0.87 each, regularly $1.59 each
Used 2 $0.40/1 Internet printable coupons
Final Price: $0.14 ($0.07 each) for 2

Bought 2 Kraft Parmesan Cheese, $4.69 each, regular price
Used 2 $1.00/1 manufacturer coupons from SS 2/12
Final Price: $5.38 ($2.69 each) for 2

Bought 2 Dole Fruit Cups 4 packs, $2.99 each, regular price
Used 1 $1.00/1 manufacturer coupon from SS2 1/8
Final Price: $3.98 ($1.99 each) for 2

$40.40  Shelf Price
-   3.84  Discounts
- 16.60  Coupons
=19.96  Out of pocket cost
-   4.00  Catalinas received
=15.96  (60.5% savings off shelf price)

What I actually paid: $19.96 - $1.00 Catalina = $18.96 + $0.41 sales tax = $19.37 paid out of pocket. Walked away with a $3.00 Catalina.
