Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

Walgreens Revisited

I found more $2 Advil PM peelies! And more $3.99 Cortaid! I'm so excited! I'M SO EXCITED! I'M SO...SCARED!!! (FYI: I left plenty of boxes with $2 peelies at the Walgreens at 11215 New Hampshire Avenue, but they're in the back of the row. You gotta dig for these things, people!)

Unfortunately I was in a bit of a hurry doing these transactions, and I forgot to bring a pen into the store to use with a worksheet, so I combined a few deals and paid more out of pocket than I would have liked. Oh well.

Transaction 1:

- Bought 2 Cortaid 0.5 oz $3.99, regular price
Used 2 $3.00/1 manufacturer coupons from SS2 1/8
And used 1 $2.00/1 in-ad coupon (took off $4.00)
Final price: $2.02 moneymaker!

*This time I went for the overage, since this store had the older register system!*

- Bought 2 Neosporin Essentials Daily Eczema Moisturizing Cream 3 piece trial packs $10.00 each, regularly $13.99 each
Spend $20.00, Receive $5.00 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Used 2 $5.00/1 Internet printable coupons (neosporin.com)
Paid $10.00, Received $5.00 Register Reward
Final Price: $5.00 ($2.50 each) for 2

- Bought 2 Advil PM 16-20 count $4.99 each, regularly $5.49 each
Buy 2, Receive $5.00 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Used 2 $2.00/1 peelies
Paid $5.98, received $5.00 Register Reward
Final price: $0.98 ($0.49 each) for 2

- Bought 1 Ultimate Flurry Protein Bar $1.99, regular price
Buy 1, Receive $1.99 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Paid $1.99, Received $1.99 (actually $2.00) Register Reward
Final Price:  Free

- Used 1 $10.00 Register Reward from my last Walgreens trip
Paid $5.95, Received $5 + $5 + $2 Register Rewards

Transaction 2:

- Bought 1 Benefiber Stick Packs, 24 or 28 pack $10.00, regularly $13.99
And bought 1 Benefiber 8.6 oz powder $10.00, regularly $13.99
Spend $20.00 or More On Participating Products, Receive $10.00 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Used 1 $3.00/1 – Benefiber Stick Pack – (benefiber.com)
And used $3.00/1 Benefiber product internet printable coupon (no longer available)
Paid $14.00, Received $10.00 Register Reward
Final Price:  $4.00 ($2.00 each) for 2

- Bought 2 Nestle Hearts, 1 or 1.2 oz. $0.39 each, regularly $0.59 each
With in ad coupon, limit 6 (fillers)

- Used 2 $5 Register Rewards from transaction 1

Paid $4.78 + $0.05 sales tax = $4.83, received 1 $10 Register Reward

Transaction 3:

- Bought 2 Advil PM 16-20 count $4.99 each, regularly $5.49 each
Buy 2, Receive $5.00 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Used 2 $2.00/1 peelies

Final price: $0.98 ($0.49 each) for 2

- Bought 3 Nestle Hearts, 1 or 1.2 oz. $0.39 each, regularly $0.59 each
With in ad coupon, limit 6 (fillers)

- Used 3 $2.00 Register Rewards from previous 2 Walgreens trips

Paid $1.15 + $0.08 sales tax = $1.23, received $5 Register Reward

$90.84  Shelf price
-18.96   Discounts
-34.00   Coupons
=37.88  Out of pocket cost
- 29.00  Register Rewards received
=  8.88  (90.2% savings off shelf price)

What I actually paid: $37.88 - $16 Register Rewards from previous Walgreens trips - $10 Register Rewards from this trip + $0.13 sales tax = $12.01 paid out of pocket. Walked away with a pre-existing $2 Register Reward and a new $10 Register Reward.
