Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

Supplemental Shopping: Yet Another Walgreens and Rite Aid Trip

I visited a different Walgreens today, where I did the following transactions:

Transaction 1:

- Bought 2 Children's Sudafed PE Cough and Cold (this time it was NOT behind the pharmacy counter), $5.00 each, regularly $8.99 each
Buy 2, Receive $5.00 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Used 2 $2.00/1 – Sudafed Product, Excludes Trial Size – (sudafed.com) (PRINT 4 FROM ONE COMPUTER!)

- Bought 1 Hunts Tomato Sauce, 8oz $0.39 with in ad coupon, regularly $1.19 at this store! (filler)

Used 1 $5.00 Register Reward received on Sunday

Paid $1.39, Received $5.00 Register Reward

Transaction 2:

- Bought 2 Triaminic Fever Reducer $5.00 each, regularly $7.99 each at this store
Buy 2, Get $5.00 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Used 2 $2.00/1 Triaminic Fever Reducer manufacturer coupon from a tearpad (unfortunately I was out of the $3.00/1 coupon from SS 12/4)

- Bought 1 Hunts Tomato Sauce 8oz, $0.39 with in-ad coupon (filler), regularly $1.19 each
Used 1 $5.00 Register Reward from the previous transaction
Paid $1.39, Received $5.00 Register Reward

Spent $2.78 out of pocket, and walked away with the $5 new Register Rewards, replacing the one I brought in and spent. (Still have a $10 Register Reward too for next week!)

My third transaction was supposed to be the 42-count Align. I had the Align, I had the 2 fillers I needed for the register rewards I intended to use, and I had the manufacturer coupon from PG 1/1. Then somehow I LOST the damn coupon! I had more, but not on me. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! So I didn't buy the Align.

But then it occurred to me that had I bought it, I would have only been able to use $15 in Register Rewards toward it, meaning I would have had to pay a whopping $19.99 out of pocket! OUCH! So even though it was technically cheaper per pill to get the 42-count here instead of the 28-count at CVS or Rite Aid (71.4 cents a pill vs. 74.9 cents),  I went with Rite Aid, since I had that $20 Up Resolutions Rewards to spend!

Rite Aid:

Bought 1 Align Digestive Care, Caplets 28 ct $28.99, Regularly $29.99
Buy 1, Receive $5.00 Up Reward, Limit 3
Used $3.00/1 Align Product from PG 1/1
Paid $25.99, Received $5.00 +Up Reward
Final Price: $20.99

Used $25 in Up Rewards, paying $0.99 out of pocket. Walked away with $5 new Up Rewards.

$66.33 Total Shelf Price before any savings
- 16.56 Sales/discounts
- 11.00 Manufacturer and store coupons
=$38.77 Paid out of pocket
- 15.00 Extra Bucks/Cash Cards Received
=$23.77 Final cost (64.2% savings)

Meh.
