Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

Stupid lawyers.

ANYWHO, so obviously this goes great with the Advil/Advil PM/Thermacare deal going on at Walgreens, which ends today! AHHHHHHHHH!! So I ran back to the New Hampshire location to see if I could find any more of those Advil PMs with the $2 peelies. They only had one left. :-( So I had to improvise. I had the 12/11 Redplum with me, which had $1/1 off Advil 40 count or larger (there's also a coupon in this week's Red Plum next to the rebate form). And I had one $3/1 Thermacare coupon from the company's Web site for a 2 count or larger.

So here's the rub, people: It all has to be on one receipt. I called a representative from Pfizer's rebate center who confirmed this. Apparently people are getting contrasting information from the Rebate Center about this. I favor airing on the side of caution. So even though the deal started a few days ago, I can't use any of my receipts from my previous Walgreens trips this week because I only bought 2 qualifying items per receipt! DOH!

So I did this:

- Bought 1 Advil PM 20 count, $4.99, regularly $5.49
Bought 1 Advil 50 count, $4.99, regularly $5.99
Bought 1 Thermacare 2 count, $5.99, regularly $6.49
Buy 2, Receive $5.00 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Used 1 $2.00/1 Advil PM peelie
Used 1 $1.00/1 Advil 40ct or larger from RP 12/11
Used 1 $3.00/1 Thermacare 2ct or larger (Thermacare.com)
Paid $9.97, received $5.00 Register Reward and will submit for $10.00 Pfizer rebate
Final price: $5.03 MONEYMAKER

- Bought 1 Ultimate Flurry Protein Bar $1.99, regular price
Buy 1, Receive $1.99 Register Reward, Limit 1 per transaction
Paid $1.99, Received $1.99 (actually $2.00) Register Reward
Final Price:  Free

- Used 1 $10 Register Reward from my last trip

Paid $1.96, Received $5 Register Reward and $2 Register Reward (and will apply for $10 rebate)

$19.96 Shelf Price
-  2.00  Discounts
-  6.00  Coupons
$11.96  Out of pocket cost
- 17.00  Register Rewards/Rebates

You can also do the rebate deal by buying three Thermacare 2cts and using 3 $3/1 coupons, which would give you a $6.00 moneymaker! But we don't need that much Thermacare. We already have too many of them! Time to make another domestic violence shelter donation.
