Welcome to an irreverent, not-at-all comprehensive blog about my couponing exploits in Montgomery County, Maryland, with some annoying cats sprinkled about. Try not to step on them; they get ever so cross. Also there may be some law stuff here and there, but not too much, because most law stuff is boring.

If bored, feel free to follow me on Twitter @madcatdisease

Note: Nothing on this site should be construed as legal advice. Trust me, you can find a better lawyer ANYWHERE.

January savings report

So I keep track of all my couponing-related spending on these spreadsheets, so I can see how much I've been saving. I split mine up into two categories: Drugstore couponing, from which I expect to save 90+ percent cumulatively, and grocery store/pet store/Target couponing, from which I expect to save 60+ percent.

My couponing month ends on the last Saturday of the month. So here's my report!

In sum, I met my savings goals (just barely in the Grocery/Pet category! Expensive ass brats (fiance included!)). But I did break my budget a bit! Try to keep it at $500 a month, which I overshot (surely thanks in part to the crazy CVS gift card deals that happened this month, including the Tide and Finish dishwashing detergents). Will have to be more careful next month. (See, even we "extreme" couponers overspend; we just get A LOT more for our money when we do!)
